2024/25 Season Membership


How can I purchase a Taipans Membership for the upcoming season? 

If you held a membership in the 2023-24 season, you would have received an email on the new process with our new ticketing platform. Please CLICK here to read it. You would have also received an email to reset your password (as you previously held a ticketing account with Taipans) and then another email to verify your account. Once logged in, you can renew current seats via the instalment plan. To pay in full, please contact Taipans HQ

When does the Early Bird Sale end?

The Early Bird sale ends 11:59pm AEST Friday 10 May 2024.

Members that held seats during the 2023-24 season MUST renew during this period to keep their current seats.

After the cut-off date, seats will be released to the general public on Saturday 11 May 2024.

If available, seats can be changed if preferred – please contact Taipans HQ.

I am a renewing member; how can I change my seats for the upcoming season?

Renewing members can only change or upgrade their seats by contacting Taipans HQ.

This cannot be done online.

If a seating option is not available at the time of renewal, members can go on a waitlist.

If that seat becomes available, they will be notified after the Early Bird period.

Members will also have up until the third home game of the 2024-25 NBL season at the Cairns Convention Centre to change or move seats.

What payment options are available to pay for my Membership?

There are TWO payment options available for members: pay IN FULL or in INSTALMENTS.

An email was sent to existing members on Friday 5 April, please CLICK HERE if you did not receive it.

Payments online will automatically select the instalment plan option.

To pay in full and up front, members must contact Taipans HQ. This cannot be done online.

Why can’t I pay for my membership in full online?

This is just a temporary solution with our new ticketing platform and only applies during the early bird period 9/4/24 – 10/5/24.

However, memberships can be paid in full at Taipans HQ (in-store or over the phone).

From 11 May 2024, memberships can be purchased in full online at the full price.

How does the monthly instalment plan work?

If you choose to pay your membership on the Instalment Plan, the first payment will be taken when your membership is processed.

The remaining balance will be split into five monthly instalments beginning 15 May and finishing 15 September – please see the schedule below. Members will be notified via email each month when their next instalment is due and will be prompted to then enter their details to process that payment.

Will I need to enter my card details every time I pay my monthly instalments?

No! When you purchase your membership, there will be a box to tick that says: “Store this card.” If selected, those card details will be stored for future payments.

When you receive an automated email for your manual payment, it will save you having to re-enter your card details each time. Saving these details is completely optional and does not need to be selected, if preferred.

I’m confused about the instalment dates. EG. What if I purchase my membership on the 20th of April? Will my next payment be on the 20th of May?

No, each instalment is due on the 15th of each month. Please see the schedule of the monthly instalment plan below. This cannot be changed.

For the following dates, you will receive an automated email with a link to make your next instalment: 

Instalment 2 – 15 May 2024
Instalment 3 – 15 June 2024
Instalment 4 – 15 July 2024
Instalment 5 -15 August 2024
Instalment 6 – 15 September 2024

How will I know when my next instalment payment is due?

You will receive a reminder email 1-2 days prior to when your next instalment will be due. Reminder emails will also be sent after the due date to members who missed their payment

What happens if I miss a payment on the monthly instalment plan?

If any instalments are delayed or missed, you will be contacted by Taipans HQ to rectify. Your membership will be put on hold, and you may incur a late payment fee.

I am a renewing member and missed the Early Bird cut-off date what happens to my seats?

If a renewing member does not contact Taipans HQ before 10 May 2024, their current seats will be released to the public on 11 May 2024. If those seats are still available from this date, renewing members can purchase them but it won’t attract the 25% off (Early Bird) discount.


Additional FAQs

Does my Membership include Finals games?

Taipans memberships are for 14 regular season games at the Cairns Convention Centre and do not include Finals ticketing. Members will have first priority (ahead of the general public) to purchase Finals tickets held in Cairns and administrated by the Cairns Taipans.

When will I receive my membership pack?

Membership packs will be ready for collection 1-2 weeks prior to the first home game. Packs can either be collected at our annual Members Day or at Taipans HQ. Communication will be sent via email once the packs are ready for collection.

If a member requires their pack to be posted, they will need to contact us and postage costs will be added.

When will I be able to access my game tickets online?

The NBL is yet to announce the 2024/25 schedule, so no game tickets are currently available. Closer to the start of the season (expected to be in September) Taipans HQ will send information regarding game tickets and access.

Will I receive a refund if I decide to cancel my membership?

The Cairns Taipans are under no obligation to agree to a refund, subject to the provisions of the Australian Consumer Law.

Requests can be made and will be reviewed by Cairns Taipans management and if approved, a 20% non-refundable amount will be held from the total cost of your membership.
