Game days for the CQUniversity Cairns Taipans are a highlight on the Far North Queensland calendar from October – February every year, and have been voted amongst the best game day product in the NBL. Offering the only national competition in Cairns, the family-friendly Taipans events offer pre-game entertainment, competitive prices and the opportunity to meet the sporting stars at every single match.
OPENING TIMES, TIP-OFF & PARKING
• All games will begin 20 minutes after the time printed on the ticket**. EG: If the ticket states 6:30pm, tip-off will occur at 6:50pm. (**Please note the NBL changed the tip-off times after the production of the 2018/19 tickets)
• It is recommended that patrons arrive at the time stated on the ticket to avoid lines and gain easier access to seating.
• There is no parking available at the Cairns Convention Centre. Please visit Translink for public transport options. Parking is available throughout the CBD, and free after 6:00pm in most areas. See Cairns Regional Council for more.
BOX OFFICE – CAIRNS CONVENTION CENTRE
• Tickets are available to purchase from the Cairns Convention Box Office every game, 90 minutes prior to tip-off.
• Tickets purchased online can also be picked up from the box office. It is recommended to pre-purchase to avoid disappoint and decrease waiting time. Online purchases are closed when box office opens – 90 minutes prior to tip-off.
Taipans KidZone (pre-game)
• The perfect way to get into game spirit! Bring the kids to the Taipans KidZone, and meet Taipans Indigenous Ambassador Kerry Williams. Suitable for children of all ages, kids can shoot hoops with the CQUniversity Taipans Academy, meet Joe Blake, get free face painting and if they’re lucky – free snakes lollies!

HUNGRY JACK’S OFFER – FREE CHEESEBURGERS
At Taipans games, if the AWAY team misses two consecutive free-throw shots in a single penalty, fans get a free cheeseburger at Hungry Jacks. The shots must be two consecutive missed free-throws, so GET LOUD in the crowd to distract them!!

• To be redeemed in-store prior to 6pm the following day (post game)

• Join the players and coaches for the post-game party, where Head Coach Mike Kelly will name his game MVP and give away his Coaches Award.
